Women and diversity in physics: Are we there yet?

Why are there so few women in physics? While CERN is becoming a truly international laboratory where people of 101 nationalities conduct research, still 80% of its scientists are white and 80% are male. Prof. Gagnon examines why this is so by reviewing many contributing factors and suggests a series of easily applicable measures that could greatly improve the situation. These measures would benefit all scientists, regardless of their gender, origin, sexual orientation, physical ability or religion. Science can greatly benefit from more diversity since it translates into an increased creativity potential, the key ingredient to scientific progress.

Talk at 3:15 pm in M 629,  Apéro at 4:45 pm at M6

It will be nice if you could confirm your attendance with a short email before 16.11.18 to Sandra.Weimer.
