Self driving cars, service robots and smart homes - all applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) - will lead to massive changes in our lives. The speaker will present some of the latest scientific advancements in AI such as deep learning and applications thereof in the above mentioned areas and present some particular technical and mathematical inventions which are crucial for the breakthrough of AI that happens right now.
The talk will also cover the economic and social impact of AI. For example, there is the fear that AI will kill many jobs in the near future. People are afraid of robots and robot cars even though the self driving cars will lead to a revolution in public transport and at the same time save many lives and protect the environment.
