Ferromagnets and ferroelectrics are materials in which magnetic and electric dipoles order below a Curie temperature, respectively. "Magnon" ("ferrons") are the elementary excitations of the magnetic (electric) order that carry spin (polarization), momentum, and energy, respectively. I will present a short overview and selected results in magnonics and ferronics.
