Physics lays the foundation for technical and medical developments in addition to influencing our high-tech lives in many ways. Thus, receiving schooling in physics facilitates our ability to actively participate in societal dialogue and form an opinion on technical developments and scientific research. It therefore plays a major part in understanding our world and its scientific and technical aspects. As a teacher of physics, you introduce schoolchildren to and advocate for the importance of the sometimes unpopular subject of physics.
In the teacher education programme focusing on physics, we prepare you for a career in teaching by providing you with a solid foundation in the science of both physics and didactics. Early in your training, we encourage you to work with pupils and gain experience during school projects and in partnerships between the university and suitable schools. In addition, you will profit from the opportunity to work with groups of schoolchildren not only during a required career orientation internship but also in our teaching lab.
