Mesoscopic systems
Group of Prof. Dr. Elke Scheer
Prof. Dr. Elke Scheer's research centers on mesoscopic physics, with a focus on nanoelectronics. The primary objective is to investigate novel electronic transport phenomena in reduced dimensions. Furthermore, it includes the investigation of mesoscopic superconductivity in hybrid systems composed of superconductors and non-superconducting materials. An additional research activity is the area of molecular electronics, dedicated to studying the electrical and thermoelectric properties of single-molecule contacts with the aim of understanding their transport mechanisms. Lastly, vibrations of nanomembranes are explored as an alternative control mechanism for the electronic transport behavior of circuits at atomic and molecular scales.
